This accordion poster was an experiment in learning RISO printing. Using scanned hand-drawn calligraphy, I created a “modern illuminated manuscript” using the lyrics of Mitski’s song I Don’t Like My Mind. The process of mixing bitmapped photographic imagery with hand-drawn elements in a wide horizontal format was exciting to me.
The Next Dance is a poster for a hypothetical film festival centered on dance. I used elongated, grainy, flowing rectangular forms to evoke the shape and texture of a film strip. A highlight in this process was getting to experiment with the grain and movement of the composition.
This poster was designed and RISO printed for GEM 67, the fashion magazine I worked for at Purchase College.
This poster was created for a graphic design art show at Purchase College. I used vinyl lettering for the type. Since the exhibition museum of _ focused on how museums present social issues, I transformed the poster into a real-life installation by applying the typography directly onto a real wall. Working with type in such a physical way became one of the highlights of the project.
